Born Heinrich Edelstein in Vienna, Henry Edion was encouraged to paint while held in a Nazi Concentration camp by fellow prisoner and German Expressionist painter Gert Wollheim. After the war he studied at L'Academie de la Grande Chaumiere, Paris and lived and worked in Indo-China, Australia, Italy, France, Canada and America, eventually moving to England. His work, much influenced by the threat of Nuclear War, was exhibited by the Arts Council, Ben Uri and Crane Kalman Gallery.
